Are you open year-round?

Yes! We are open seven days a week, all year round. We are always closed on Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day. We are open on all federal holidays, including Memorial Day and Labor Day. We will announce it on our social media if we plan to close outside these days.

What's the best time of year to visit?

All times of the year are great to visit us! Here's what you can expect each season:

  • Spring: Enjoy the blooming flowers and mild weather, perfect for a picnic.
  • Summer: Experience the vibrant vineyard and outdoor activities.
  • Fall: The weather is excellent, and the grapes are nearing ripeness—ideal for sitting outside and enjoying the harvest season.
  • Winter: Cozy up indoors with our warm hospitality and holiday decorations.

Can kids visit?

Absolutely! We are a family-friendly business. We offer non-alcoholic fruit punch slushies, soft drinks, and candy for children.

Are Dogs Welcome?

Pets on a leash are welcome outdoors. Only service animals, as defined by the ADA, are allowed indoors. We reserve the right to ask about a service animal's compliance with ADA requirements. Emotional support animals are not allowed.

Can we bring food?

Yes, you can bring your food. However, state law prohibits bringing outside alcoholic beverages.

Can we buy a bottle of wine here and drink it on-site?

Yes, you can! If you don't finish the bottle, we can reseal it with a new cork so you can take it home. Open containers cannot leave the property.

Is there something for family members who don't drink?

We offer various non-alcoholic options, including Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, Diet Mountain Dew, bottled water, cheese and crackers, free pub mix, candy, and pretzels.

One of my family members doesn't like wine. What else do you offer?

We have several popular light beers available for purchase.

How much are tastings and tours?

Can I reserve a time for a tasting?

We operate on a first-come, first-served basis. Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays are typically busy so that tastings may require a wait. We'll get you in as soon as possible! Learn more about our Tastings here.

How can I inquire about booking the event space?

Do you allow proposals on your property?

Yes, we welcome proposals. Please get in touch with us in advance to ensure everything goes smoothly.

Do you allow smoking?

Smoking is permitted outdoors only. Please be considerate of other guests and avoid smoking in crowded areas.

What is your return policy?

Who owns Purple Toad Winery?

June Dossey and Allen Dossey own Purple Toad Winery, which they founded and have run since its opening in 2009.

How many bottles do you produce a year?

We produce and sell about 750,000 bottles per year.

Does your wine contain sulfites?

Yes, our wines contain sulfites. Sulfites help preserve the wine and keep it safe to drink. We use a minimally effective amount, typically 75 ppm. If you are sensitive to sulfites, please take caution when drinking wine.

What do you do with old wine barrels?

We sell them to customers. We post on Facebook when they are available for sale.

Do you offer hosting for private events?

What are your business hours?

Our hours are:

  • Monday-Saturday: 10:30 AM to 6:00 PM
  • Sunday: 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM

Is there parking available at the winery?

Yes, we have ample parking available for our visitors. Our parking lot is asphalt, and our driveway is concrete. Motorcycles are welcome.
