All of our fruit is American-grown. We receive fruit from California, Oregon, Washington State, New York and Kentucky. Kentucky is best known for the distillers, grain grows very well in Kentucky! However grapes do not grow well here even though we grow several French grape varieties in our vineyard (Experts told us we would not be able to, of course we had to prove them wrong!) Kentucky’s weather is too wet for grapes which are very susceptible to fungus. Grape vines also do not like to have wet feet. In Western Kentucky, we are known for the clay layer just below the surface which prevents water from draining properly. Grape vines thrive in sandy/rocky soil for the adequate drainage. Therefore we source most of our fruit from around the country in locations where high quality fruit is grown in its optimum conditions.
