We receive fruit from California, Oregon, Washington State, New York, and Kentucky. We strive for the best quality. Kentucky is best known for the distillers, grain grows very well in Kentucky! However, grapes do not grow well here even though we grow several French grape varieties in our vineyard (Experts told us we would not be able to, of course, we had to prove them wrong!) Kentucky’s weather is too wet for grapes which are very susceptible to fungus. Grape vines also do not like to have wet feet. In Western Kentucky, we are known for the clay layer just below the surface which prevents water from draining correctly. Grape vines thrive in sandy/rocky soil for adequate drainage. Therefore we source most of our fruit from around the country in locations where high-quality fruit is grown in its optimum conditions.
